INFORMATION PURSUANT TO ART. 13 OF EU REGULATION 2016/679
GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION

In this policy, Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata (hereinafter: Owner or Company) provides information on its policies for processing personal data collected during registration on the site, during visits to the site, and when using the services requested. This policy is provided pursuant to Article 13 of EU Regulation 679/2016 – General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter: Regulation).

A) DATA CONTROLLER

The data controller of your personal data is Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata, in the person of its legal representative, with registered office in Via Nizza n. 110, 00198 Roma, sede operativa in Corso Carlo Marx n. 19, 95045 Misterbianco (CT)

B) DATA CONTROLLER

Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata uses certain third parties to perform activities on its behalf that also involve the processing of personal data owned by the Company itself. 

C) TYPES OF DATA SUBJECT TO PROCESSING AND CATEGORIES OF INTERESTED PARTIES

The Data Controller will process your personal data collected during registration. The processing will include both common data (such as, but not limited to, name, surname, and email address) and data falling into “special categories” pursuant to Article 9.1 of the Regulation, as they reveal racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, as well as personal data concerning health or a person’s sex life or sexual orientation.

The data processed concern the following categories of  interested parties, who provide the data for themselves or for the organizations to which they belong: 

  • customers, i.e. exhibitors, visitors/consumers, buyers, conference attendees, speakers at events, participants in workshops, webinars and business meetings, purchasers of services and products;
  • prospects, or individuals who have expressed interest in the Events, Services and/or Products through contact requests, information or quotes or in any other form, including subscribing to the Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata newsletters;
  • other categories of interested parties, i.e. recipients of invitations to attend the Events, for example guests, journalists and representatives of media outlets; 

Specifically, depending on the data subject, the following categories of data processed are identified:

  • Exhibitors: name and surname, company name of the organization to which they belong, contact details, residence or headquarters, country of origin, website, sector of activity, brand, types of services or products offered by the exhibitor, annual promotional/advertising budget, type of distribution, markets of interest;
  • other buyers of Services and Products: name and surname, company name of the organization to which you belong, contact details, residence or headquarters, country of  

origin, website, sector of activity, type of Service or Product purchased; 

  • Visitors: name and surname, company name of the organization to which they belong, contact details, job title and level of responsibility of the contact person, residence or headquarters, country of origin, website, year the company was founded, turnover, number of employees, sector of activity, percentage of business connected to Italy and abroad, Italian and foreign regions of interest, main categories of Events, Services or Products of interest to the buyer, main categories of services and/or products marketed by the buyer, categories of customers of the organization, purpose of the visit to the Event;
  • Journalists: name and surname, contact details, sector and publication they belong to, country of origin, language;
  •   speakers of the Events,   congressmen/congresswomen: name and surname, contact details, sector of belonging, professionalism/topics covered, language;  
  • Other customer categories: name and surname, contact details, country of origin, product or economic sector of activity, turnover, number of employees, main categories of services or products of interest and/or marketed by the customer.

D) NAVIGATION DATA

The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.

This information is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects, but by its very nature, it could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified. This category of data includes the IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users connecting to the site, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) ​​addresses of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the server response (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and IT environment.

This data is used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the 555 website and to verify its proper functioning. It is deleted immediately after processing. The data could be used to ascertain liability in the event of hypothetical computer crimes against the website. Except for this eventuality, web contact data is currently retained for no longer than seven days.

E) COOKIE

No personal user data is acquired by the site. Cookies are not used to transmit personal information, nor are so-called persistent cookies of any kind used. The use of so-called session cookies (which are not stored permanently on the user’s computer and disappear when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to enable safe and efficient browsing of the site.

F) THIRD PARTY DATA PROVIDED VOLUNTARILY BY THE USER

When using certain services, the personal data of third parties, provided by you, may be processed. In these cases, you act as an independent data controller, assuming all legal obligations and responsibilities. Therefore, you fully indemnify the Data Controller against any complaints, claims, requests for compensation for damages resulting from processing, etc., that may be received from third parties whose personal data has been processed through your use of the services in violation of applicable data protection laws. In any case, if you provide or otherwise process personal data of third parties, you hereby guarantee—and assume all related liability—that such specific processing is based on your prior consent to the processing of their information.

G) PURPOSE, LEGAL BASIS OF THE PROCESSING AND OPTIONALITY OF THE PROVISION

Your personal data will be processed, with your consent where necessary, for the following purposes, where applicable:

  • Management and planning of events and/or products and services;
  • Subscription to the newsletter service;
  • Sending by Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata of commercial and/or advertising communications and/or offers for the sale of events, products or services similar to those previously purchased by the interested party, or to those which have been the subject of a request, even implicit, by the interested party;
  • Profiling carried out by Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata;
  • Management of other organizational and production activities of Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata;
  • Market research aimed at detecting levels of satisfaction in relation to the Events, Services and Products offered by Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata;
  • Direct marketing activities by Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata;
  • Transfer of data by Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata to companies or third-party partners of Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata for their independent direct marketing activities relating to their respective services and/or products, as well as by Sicily Hub Società Benefit a Responsabilità Limitata to social platforms;
  • Publication on the website and on the social platforms of Sicily Hub Limited Liability Benefit Company of audio, video and photo recordings recorded during the events organized at SiciliaFiera;
  • Use of surveillance cameras

Your personal data will be processed using manual, computerized, and electronic means, all of which are suitable for ensuring the security and confidentiality of the data. The data processed pursuant to this policy exclusively concerns individuals, sole proprietorships, or partnerships, and their partners/directors and/or internal representatives of corporations, entities, and organizations.  

The legal basis for processing for the purposes referred to in point 1 is Article 6(c) (processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the data controller is subject). Providing your data for the aforementioned purposes is optional; however, failure to provide such data will make it impossible to process your pre-contractual requests and/or enter into the requested contract and/or fulfill the aforementioned legal or regulatory obligations.

The legal basis for processing for the purposes referred to in points 5 and 10 is Article 6 (f) (processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the data controller or by third parties).  

The legal basis for processing for the purposes referred to in points 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 is Article 6(a) (the data subject has given consent to the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes). Consent for the purposes referred to in points 2, 3, 7, and 8 is optional and does not affect the use of the services. Without your consent to the processing referred to in points 2 and 3, the Company will not send you communications about its initiatives and offers. Therefore, we recommend that you provide your consent if you wish to receive communications tailored to your interests.  

With reference to the purpose referred to in point 9, the latter finds its legal basis in legitimate interest, unless it involves photographs and/or video recordings, in which case the express consent of the interested party will be required.

In any case, please note that if you wish to object to the processing of your data for marketing purposes carried out using one or more of the methods indicated above in points 2 and 3, you may do so at any time by writing to the Data Controller’s physical address, as required by applicable law. You have the right to withdraw your consent for the processing referred to in points 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 at any time, without affecting your use of the services or the lawfulness of the processing carried out prior to your objection.

Finally, your personal data belonging to “special categories” of data will be processed, subject to your explicit consent, in accordance with the provisions of Article 9.2(a) of the Regulation and the currently applicable Authorization of the Italian Data Protection Authority.

H) RECIPIENTS AND TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA

Your personal data may be shared with:

  • individuals or professional firms that provide assistance and consultancy to the Company in accounting, administrative, legal, tax and financial matters relating to the provision of services;
  • marketing agencies;
  • technical and IT service providers;
  • exhibitors and visitors;
  • journalists and other media outlets;
  • subjects, bodies or authorities to whom the communication of your personal data is mandatory pursuant to legal or regulatory provisions or orders of the authorities;
  • parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates of the Company, limited to the pursuit of administrative and accounting purposes connected to the performance of organizational, administrative, financial and accounting activities;
  • credit institutions, insurance companies and brokers.

Furthermore, your personal data may be processed by individuals or categories of individuals acting as Data Processors pursuant to Art. 28 of the Regulation or authorized to process data pursuant to Art. 29 of the Regulation.

Finally, the Company reserves the right to publish images related to its events/demonstrations or simply related to the normal activities carried out within the Company’s offices, in order to enhance its activities and for commercial purposes. Therefore, with your specific consent, your image, collected within the Company’s offices and/or during your participation in events/demonstrations, may be shared on the Company’s communication channels, including but not limited to: the e-newsletter, the Company’s official social media pages, the Data Controller’s website, or at the Company’s offices.  

Except for the aforementioned cases, your data will not be disclosed except to individuals, entities, or authorities to whom disclosure is mandatory by law or regulation. Some of your personal data is shared with recipients who may be located outside the European Economic Area. The Company ensures that these recipients process your personal data in compliance with the Regulation. Indeed, transfers may be based on an adequacy decision or on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Further information is available from the Data Controller.

I) STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA

Your Personal Data, including those belonging to “special categories” of data, will be processed using automated and non-automated tools and will be retained for the time necessary to achieve the specific purposes pursued. In any case, this is without prejudice to the further retention required by applicable legislation, including that provided for by Article 2946 of the Italian Civil Code. L) RIGHTS OF INTERESTED PARTIES (see articles 15-22 of the Regulation)

You have the right to request from the Company, at any time, access to your personal data, its rectification or erasure, or to object to its processing. You have the right to request restriction of processing in the cases provided for by Art. 18 of the Regulation, as well as to obtain your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, in the cases provided for by Art. 20 of the Regulation.

You have the right to withdraw, at any time, your consent to the processing of your personal data for the purposes referred to in point G. Any withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent given before the withdrawal.

In any case, you always have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (Data Protection Authority), pursuant to Article 77 of the Regulation, if you believe that the processing of your data violates applicable law.
