THE SECOND EDITION OF HEYSUN – ENERGY TRANSITION EXPO PRESENTED AT MIMIT

The second edition of the ‘HeySun’- Expo of the energy transition’ fair, which will be held from 25 to 27 September, was presented at a press conference at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, in the Parlamentino hall at Palazzo Piacentini, 2025, in the exhibition center SiciliaFiera, in Misterbianco, corso Carlo Marx, with entrance from via Franchetti, the great fair event of the Mediterranean dedicated to renewable energies.
Marco Calabrò, “The collaboration between Mimit and AEFI for the promotion of Italian exhibition excellence continues. This fair, attentive to the themes of sustainable energy, proposes concrete solutions to support companies in the path towards the green transition, In line with the Italian approach, which is careful to make the essential objectives of environmental sustainability compatible with the needs of companies,” said the Head of the Department for Enterprises at Mimit. “During the three days of the fair, high-efficiency photovoltaics, hydrogen, sustainable mobility and many other topics consistent with the policies of the Ministry will be discussed, including the fourth generation nuclear power plant, which will be able to provide an effective response to the energy cost containment needs of Italian companies”.

The president of the Aefi internationalization commission, Pietro Piccinetti, reinforces the concept of the Fair by underlining that: ” ‘HeySun’ is a virtuous example of how the Italian trade fair system knows how to interpret the great contemporary challenges, combining innovation, sustainability and territorial development. Bringing an international event of this caliber in the heart of the Mediterranean, in a strategic region like Sicily, means to value not only the potential of the South, but also the role of fairs as a driver of economic, cultural and environmental growth. As an association, we are proud to support initiatives like this one that focus on the future of energy and dialogue between companies, institutions and new generations.”

Antonio Decaro, MEP and President of the European Parliament, Mr Envi said: “HeySun is a trade fair that deals with a crucial issue for the future of Europe: the energy transition. The latter is an opportunity for our companies. Speeding up the process of cleaner energy systems is not only good for the environment, but it can cut energy costs and expenses for our businesses. We need to continue investing in green technology, sustainability and innovation. Thank you for your commitment. Together we can make Europe greener, more modern, more sustainable”.

Fabrizio Spada, European Parliament office in Italy “The European Parliament strongly supports initiatives such as HEYSUN – Expo of the Energy Transition, which promote dialogue between institutions, citizens, companies and research on strategic issues for the future of Europe. The Mobility Days, in the framework of the European Mobility Week, are a concrete example of how the energy transition can become a reality in the territories, thanks to the active involvement of young people, schools and local communities.”

Boss Fabrizio Penna Department PNRR MASE – the importance of the initiative is evident from a press conference so attended where the central themes on efficiency and sustainability are central issues for the Ministry. We believe in solar, photovoltaic, geothermal to all sources of clean energy. As a Ministry we have the obligation to invest in Southern Italy more than 50% of PNRR. We support Heysun because we believe in the value of the initiative. Nino Di Cavolo As Chairman of SiciliaFiera, he said: “The second edition of this important event testifies to the constant commitment of our exhibition center in creating a dynamic hub where institutions, companies, startups, universities, students and citizens collaborate to promote innovation, Sustainability and spatial development. SiciliaFiera thus confirms itself as the Mediterranean hub for energy transition, technological innovation and sustainable mobility, in line with our vision of a greener and more prosperous future, supported by the collaboration with the European Parliament and the sponsorship of the European Commission and the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, in full harmony with the objectives of the Green Deal, the PNRR and the 2030 Agenda. We are in the heart of the Mediterranean and we want to create a virtuous corridor between Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa and the Arab world, contributing actively to the development not only of Sicily, but of all of Italy. In addition, Heysun will also host this year the “Mobility days”, official event of the ‘European Mobility Week’ with a rich program of activities dedicated especially to new generations: workshops for schools and families, test drive electric vehicles, Demonstration areas for micromobility, meetings with experts and institutional representatives”. Three intense days of networking, meetings and roundtables will take place within the largest exhibition area in Southern Italy. Not only hydrogen but much more will be discussed in the three days of Kermesse where they will be faced with multiple scenarios ranging from Agrivoltaic to offshore wind, from solar thermal and thermodynamic to high-efficiency photovoltaic conversion, from the capture and reuse (just in time) of CO2 (Methanation) to “E-Fuel” fuels, from energy efficiency of residential buildings to Renewable and Sustainable Energy Communities.

The round tables, conferences and panels are coordinated by Professor Rosario Lanzafame, ordinary of Machines and Systems for the Energy and the environment and delegate of the Department of Energy at the University of Catania and president of the regional scientific technical commission for the evaluation of the ‘Hydrogen valley’ projects, Project evaluation, is also responsible for the scientific technical committee of the Fair.
